ZHIYUN FIVERAY M40 40W Bi-Color Portable LED Video Light
Our Verdict
In my search for a truly portable lighting rig, the ZHIYUN FIVERAY M40 caught my attention for its impressive 40W output packed into such a small frame. I spent two weeks using the FIVERAY M40 on various location shoots to see if its performance actually lived up to its specs.
Performance & Build Quality
The build quality is surprisingly robust, featuring an advanced DynaVort cooling system that manages heat surprisingly well despite the small chassis. The integration of high-quality internal fans keeps the unit stable even during extended sessions, feeling like a tool built to survive real-world production environments.
Day-to-Day Experience
Using the dual-wheel control system is incredibly intuitive, allowing for quick, precise adjustments to brightness and color temperature on the fly. Its compact size meant I could just toss it into my gear bag without a second thought, and the PD fast charging ensured I was never left waiting around for a battery boost.
This is the ideal companion for run-and-gun videographers and photographers who need professional, adjustable lighting that fits in a jacket pocket.
